Step by step, day by day
On Saturday afternoon, I completed the through mortise and tenon for my stretcher and for the first time saw my little piece stand on its own two legs. Now I merely have to bandsaw a tapered and scalloped look for the legs, sand and finish the inside faces, fit the stretcher with wedges, glue it all together, then plane and finish the outside faces by tomorrow at noon. All that for a piece of furniture that will spend the rest of its life being stepped on by short people.
